Gustavo Badell criticizes Hadi Choopan… then retracts comments.
Gustavo Badell is a name that does not make the headlines when it comes to bodybuilding in the last couple of years, but between 2004 and 2009 he was one of the top bodybuilders in the pro league.
Badell had a long career as a bodybuilder with a career spanning from 1991-2012.
Badell won a number of pro shows and even placed third at the 2004 Mr. Olympia, behind Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler.
Badell criticized Hadi Choopan for the way he looked on stage, with circles drawn around the suspected areas.
He wrote: “Congrats to the new phenomenal physique… not for me”.
It looks as Badell was referring to the use of synthol or another type of site enhancing chemical.
As hundreds of comments started to follow on the post, a few hours later Gustavo Badell retracted his comments and wrote a long message to explain the reason he removed the post.
As well, it seems Gustavo was pressured into doing a video to praise Hadi Choopan as moments later a video was posted with Gustavo talking about the Vancouver Pro show and Hadi Choopan’s condition. (Watch video below)
Congratulations to the new Vancouver pro 2019 .👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Clarifying my comment with the photos that are running through the networks.
* 1 Hadi Chopan is undoubtedly one of the best bodybuilders in the world and personally I am a big fan of his body and work. in fact, 2 years ago, he always mentioned that if he had competed in olympia 2017,2018 against the MR Olympia 212 Flex Lewis maybe the story would have been different.
* 2 Yesterday night they were photos everywhere showing the shoulder and arms with some rare aspects , I just want to say if the photos are lies that makes me happy because I am particularly a fan of the work of HADI, but I would only say that it is not necessary because he is perfect and a great contender of highest level in any competition that decides to compete in the IFBB PRO – LEAGUE
We all fans ,
we can discuss and at the same time clarify.
TEAM BADELL, We love global bodybuilding.
If Badell was not 100% sure about the images or what Choopan was or was not using, a athlete with as much experience such as Badell should be very careful before posting such comments against fellow athletes.
