PRODUCT REVIEW: Advocare Thermoplus. Thermoplus is a vitamin and herbal weight loss supplement. It’s designed to help you cut back fat and reduce cravings for those evil carbs. You’ll quickly notice it uses a blend of natural ingredients. Yes – we said the word ‘blend.’ But worry not, there are no actual proprietary blends in this product. All 6 ingredients and their respective doses are clearly shown for you to see. Claimed to help you:
- Support metabolism
- Suppress appetite
- Stimulate your body to turn fat into energy
The ingredients don’t look very convincing at first glance. But we’ll need to take a deeper look at the formula in this Thermoplus review before making any early judgments. Let’s get started with the inspection.
Pros and Cons
Thermoplus is not a hardcore fat burner. It uses some old-school ingredients that were popular back in the day, but it has failed to catch up with modern and more potent fat burners that use proven ingredients. If you’re not searching for anything strong, though, then it might be just the right supplement for you.
- Relatively safe and light formula
- Supports general health and wellness
- Guarana might raise your metabolic rate
- Vitamin B3 (Niacin) supplementation can make you gain fat by increasing insulin resistance
- Missing proven fat burners
- Lack of a good appetite suppressant
- Fairly weak effects overall
Who Makes Thermoplus
AdvoCare is a U.S.-based supplement company. It was founded way back in 1993, which is a good thing. It means they’ve been around for a while and know the market well. However, one thing that stains their image a bit is that they’re a former MLM company. MLM companies are essentially pyramid schemes that people don’t respect much due to their questionable business models and policies.
There’s nothing new or exciting about the benefits that Thermoplus offers. It’s all the usual with claims like:
- Helps suppress your appetite
- Supports healthy metabolism
As we mentioned, there are 6 ingredients in Thermoplus formula. None of them are in a proprietary blend, everything’s transparent, and that’s great. However, you get the feeling that the ingredients are seriously lacking in potency. See it for yourself below:
Thiamine or vitamin B1 is essential for your body. It helps regulate your blood sugar levels. While it’s not common to be deficient in thiamine, it can help with high blood glucose issues. (1)
Niacin or vitamin B3 is yet another essential nutrient in Thermoplus. However, you don’t really want to put this one in a fat burner. It’s shown to help reduce high cholesterol but at the cost of increasing insulin resistance. (2) If you didn’t know, insulin resistance makes your body store fat more easily. Insulin resistance typically happens when you eat too many carbs for prolonged periods. The last thing we need is niacin making it even worse. It’s quite ironic to put it in a fat burner.
According to some early research, sage might alleviate pain and improve your mood. But it’s far from a convincing fat burner ingredient.
Oolong Tea Extract
Oolong tea makes up for just 2% of the world’s tea. In terms of benefits, it stands somewhere in between green tea and black tea; containing antioxidants that may improve your overall wellness. It may also help you burn off a few extra calories, although this effect is not as strong as with green tea. (3)
This is a great ingredient. Guarana is a type of seed that contains high amounts of caffeine. Believe it or not, it has more caffeine than the coffee bean itself! As a result, it will offer you stimulant-based benefits such as increased energy, raised metabolic rate, and enhanced mental focus. (4) A word of caution: if you don’t react well to stimulants, then guarana extract may not be for you. It can cause side effects which we’ll go more into below.
Although Thermoplus claims to suppress your appetite, its effects are mild at best. If you typically feel hungry often, not much will change with this fat burner. That’s the best way to describe it. The two key ingredients missing in Thermoplus are:
- Garcina Cambogia – Garcina is one of the best appetite suppressants out there. It naturally reduces your hunger and cravings for food. When taking this ingredient, you’ll find yourself snacking less often. What’s more, it helps to raise serotonin levels in your brain which will improve your mood. This will spill over into other areas of your life where you’re making decisions from a healthier and happier place. (5)
- Green Tea Extract – Although Oolong tea might be beneficial, green tea is still the king of teas in terms of incinerating fat. It’s a shame Thermoplus didn’t include it. (6)
How to Take (Dosage)
Thermoplus by Advocare is quite simple to take. You should take one capsule 30 minutes before a meal , and you’re done for the day. If you’re a busy person, this can make it easy to take a fat burner consistently. However, is it the best way to take a fat burner? It depends. If it’s a stimulant-based fat burner like this one, then 1 daily serving is not enough to keep your metabolism stimulated 24/7. With stimulants, you need at least 3 or 4 daily servings for a constant ingredient trickle. On the other hand, if you’re taking a non-stimulant fat burner, then you may not need more than 1 daily serving. That’s because some ingredients in these fat burners build up in your body, or have long-lasting effects. Some of the most effective fat burners we’ve reviewed are non-stimulants. They’re shown to rapidly cut through your fat stores with just 1 serving per day.
With only 6 ingredients, most of them being herbs, Thermoplus is a safe fat burner. If you’re still worried about side effects, then we can only suggest talking to a doctor before taking it. The only scenario where it could be risky is if you would react negatively to stimulants. Guarana, for example, contains some caffeine. If you don’t react well to caffeine beverages, this fat burner may not work well for you either. fdsae
Thermoplus has around 113 ratings on Amazon at the time of writing this article. The average user score is 3.8 out of 5 stars. We think this perfectly describes this fat burner. Not great, but not terrible either. It’s perfect if you’re looking for nothing more than a slight metabolism boost, and perhaps a light energy ‘kick’ during your workouts. Let’s see what some users had to say: “It’s a stimulant. It suppresses appetite. Although I like the product, really it’s basically the same as any other stimulant on the market. It won’t work miracles but can help.” – Jessica (Amazon Customer) “Did not help my appetite control.” – Teresa (Amazon Customer) “Great energy for workouts! No weight loss. Used for over a year! 5’3″ 106lbs.” – Pamela Laurie (Amazon Customer)
The Thermoplus price ranges from $20-$40 per bottle, depending on where you buy it. One bottle should last you 6 weeks or more, which makes the price reasonable in our eyes.
Is Thermoplus Good Value For Money?
We feel it’s a decent value for money, but ultimately, only you can answer that question. Make sure to check the ingredients twice to see if they offer what you’re after. In the end, this fat burner doesn’t have an extremely high price tag like some others so you might as well give it a try. Is it as strong as some of our top-rated fat burners? No, but that’s not what it’s claimed to be in the first place. For better results, you’ll probably have to pay a little bit more. Buy on Amazon
Thermoplus Review Conclusion
And so we bring this Thermoplus review to a conclusion. Should you buy it? As with most fat burners, it all boils down to your goals. If you want to have more energy during your workouts and aren’t looking for much more than that. Thermoplus may be the right choice for you. But for more serious fat loss and appetite suppression, you should check all options before buying this one.
