The company behind this particular booster we’re reviewing is called True Grit.

We were unable to find much information about them on the internet. While they do have their own website, it redirects users to 3rd party sellers.

When we’re looking for quality testosterone boosters, one of our criteria is good company reputation. We were unable to unearth any important info about True Grit, which is disappointing.


True Grit Test Booster is supposed to help you:

  • Support free testosterone
  • Support estrogen balance

As you probably noticed, the goal of this test booster is simple: to raise your testosterone while decreasing the female hormone.

It aims to achieve this by balancing the estradiol/testosterone ratio in the body. Certain ingredients in this test booster work to block aromatase enzyme which converts testosterone to estrogen.

However, how effective it really is, we’ll find out upon checking the ingredients.

True Grit ingredients


There are a total of 9 ingredients in the True Grit Test Booster Formula. You’ll be happy to know that there are no proprietary blends in the product – you can see the exact dosages. What’s more, they included some great ingredients in the formula, from Ashwagandha to Broccoli.

That said, some of its ingredients have no place in a testosterone booster.


A book could be written on the importance of zinc for testosterone. This essential mineral regulates a vast number of enzymatic reactions and other bodily processes. It plays a key role in the production of the male hormone, as well as preventing the loss of testosterone from prolonged and intense exercise. The more you sweat, the more zinc you lose, and the more your need for this critical mineral increases. It’s really a must-have in a testosterone booster. True Grit did a great job by including 15mg of zinc gluconate. This is a highly absorbable form of the mineral with perfect dosage.

Fenugreek Extract

Fenugreek is is a plant which can raise your testosterone levels. One of the ways it works is by blocking an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase, which converts testosterone to another important androgen hormone – DHT. This way it maintains circulating T levels. (7) However, we feel it’s better to let the conversion of T to DHT let occur naturally. DHT and T need to work together for optimal anabolic benefits linked to muscle growth, recovery, and vitality. Both of these masculine hormones are equally important. Blocking one while raising the other negates any benefits that Fenugreek may offer.

Broccoli (Whole Plant, Supplying DIM)

Broccoli is a source of Indol-3-Carbinol, a natural compound that further breaks down into DIM in your body. When DIM is naturally metabolized from I3C in your body, it will reduce estrogen activity, which is a good thing for your testosterone. (8) This was a great choice by True Grit.

Ashwagandha Extract (Sensoril)

Ashwagandha is an Ayurvedic herb that will not only calm you down and protect your body from stress. It also works to enhance muscle strength, performance, and virility. (9, 10)

Shilajit Extract

Shilajit is a natural material which contains something called fulvic acid. Fulvic acid has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. It’s also been used to treat certain cognitive disorders. As for boosting testosterone, that’s where this herb disappoints. Some minor research saw an increase in fertility and male hormones, but reputable studies haven’t been able to repeat these results. Any testosterone benefits Shilajit may offer don’t seem reliable. (1)

Boron Citrate

Boron is a great ingredient for any testosterone booster. It’s a trace mineral that helps your body produce more testosterone, however, you need it in the right amounts to have an effect. The optimal boron dosage for boosting T is 10mg. This fat burner only contains 5mg of active boron, which is unlikely to have an impact on your male hormone. (11)

Safed Musli Extract

If you’re looking to reduce inflammation and potentially increase your sexual performance, then Safed Musli could help you. This herb has been shown in preliminary research to help support male health. However, this doesn’t include testosterone. There’s no solid human evidence that shows it can be considered a testosterone booster. (2)

Bladderwrack Extract

Bladderwrack is a seaweed with an interesting name. And that’s about it. No kidding, this ingredient hasn’t been proven to have any benefits, let alone that it can raise your testosterone levels. According to WebMD: “Bladderwrack is used for many conditions, but, so far, there isn’t enough scientific evidence to determine whether or not it is effective for any of them. It’s also important to note that it’s not safe to take bladderwrack by mouth.” (3)

Yacon Root

Yacon is a sweet potato-like looking plant that grows in Andes Mountains in South America. Its roots have been used for medicinal purposes for hundreds of years. This mainly includes treating kidney and digestive problems. But you’re probably wondering, what about testosterone? Unfortunately, we only have one rat study which showed an increase in sperm count and T levels after supplementing with Yacon. We don’t have any human evidence to confirm this. And on top of that, rarely any testosterone booster uses this ingredient. As a result, we believe they could’ve included a more effective ingredient here.

Any Ingredients Missing?

The formula of True Grit Testosterone booster is decent. However, it’s missing some foundational ingredients, such as:

  • Vitamin D – We need it for the synthesis of testosterone. Usually, you can get vitamin D from the sun, but many people don’t get enough, which has led to an ‘epidemic’ of vitamin D deficiency and low testosterone. (5, 6)
  • Magnesium – Increases free testosterone levels in the blood by inhibiting SHBG (sex hormone-binding globulin)
  • Bioperine – Enhances the effects of other ingredients in a testosterone formula

We would also love to see Mucuna Pruriens in the formula. This is a potent dopamine booster, which increases your motivation and the drive to achieve your goals. Mucuna also increases luteinizing hormone and testosterone which leads to elevated muscle strength, vitality, and performance. (4)

How to Take (Dosage)

One bottle of True Grit Test Booster has 120 capsules. If you take the recommended daily serving of 4 tablets, it will last you 4 weeks.

The instructions say to take 2 tablets in the morning, and 2 in the mid-afternoon. If you work out that day, then take the second dose 30 minutes before training.

The label states to not take more than 2 servings within 24 hours.

As always, it’s best to start with one capsule to asses your tolerance. Once you know how you react to a supplement, it’s easy to adjust the dose.

Side Effects

There’s little risk of side effects from True Grit Test Booster. Looking at the ingredient label, you’ll notice there are no proprietary blends which allows you to see all the ingredient doses. The dosages are within safe limits and there are no harmful ingredients that would make us question the safety of this fat burner.

That said, if you have any medical condition or are unsure, we always suggest talking to your doctor before taking a supplement like True Grit Test Booster. It’s always best to be safe than sorry.


A full bottle with 120 capsules will cost you around $31.49. It’s not an extremely high price, but it’s also not the cheapest testosterone booster either. Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide if True Grit Test Booster’s benefits are worth this kind of price.

Is True Grit Test Booster Good Value For Money?

True Grit Test booster, as we repeated, isn’t a high-end supplement. Not in terms of price, not in terms of its benefits.

But it’s a solid mid-range product, and we believe the price is fair for this kind of testosterone booster. It certainly won’t turn you into a hulk, but if you put in enough effort into your training and diet, it could give you a slight boost.

True Grit Test Booster is good value for money – but we with a little more research, you can find much better options out there.


Test Booster by True Grit is a solid product, but there’s nothing about it that makes it stand out in the sea of testosterone boosters.

Overall, True Grit T Booster can support your strength, stamina, and maybe sexual performance too.

But in terms of testosterone, it uses questionable ingredients like fenugreek which sacrifices another important male hormone (DHT) in order to elevate your T.

As a result, we wouldn’t recommend this product if your sole goal is to raise your male hormone. There are testosterone boosters out there that are better at that job.
